Minor

For students in other majors interested in broadening their educational experience at Georgia Tech, the School of History, Technology, and Society (HTS) offers minors in history and in sociology. Beyond the introductory level courses, all history and sociology classes are listed as HTS courses. The course title usually indicates whether the class is history or sociology. Students petition for the minor at the time they petition for the major degree. Minors are conferred upon graduation and appear on students' transcripts.

  • Twelve of the eighteen hours must be at the 3000 level or above.
  • Three hours taken outside of history courses may be counted toward the minor, with approval of the School.
  • All courses must be taken on a letter-grade basis and must be completed with an overall grade-point average of 2.0.
  • No more than six hours of Special Topics (elective) courses may be counted toward the minor.
